Nature Walks & Hikes

  2. Rumbling Bald Loop: This is a free trail system and it is a moderate hike through woods and around boulders. You might even catch a climber practicing some bouldering.  It's located off Boys Camp Rd (<1.0 mile)
  3. Lake Lure Green Space: Located on the east side of the lake, this green space was a former 9-hole golf course. Some of the area is being used for debris removal and staging after the Hurricane Helene storm, and that area is marked NO TRESSPASSING, but the east side of the green space can be walked utilizing some old golf carts and paths. 658 Memorial Hwy, Lake Lure.

Vehicles in unauthorized spots will be towed promptly.

Our Waterways are NOT OPEN

Unfortunately, since the devastation caused by Helene, our waterways - The Lake and River - are off limits for 2025 while the construction crews and heavy equipment works to remove sediment and debris. We hope to have our lake and river cleaned up and ready for our wonderful residents and our happy visitors sometime in 2026. Stay tuned here for updates and please visit our local OPEN businesses that rely on your support.
